The annual Nicky Alliance Centre Telethon has raised over £18,000 towards the running cost of the important facility for senior members of our community.
Despite the soaring temperatures, over 30 volunteers gave up their spare time to man the phones at Brown Shipley, encouraging donors to support the appeal. Shelley Blackston, Fundraising Executive at The Nicky, said: “We are indebted to those volunteers who turned out to help raise this outstanding sum of money. The money is still coming in and we will be holding more mini-Telethons in the near future.
“It was hard work but it turned out to be a really enjoyable social occasion. There was a great atmosphere, everyone got on so well, and the money raised will help towards the essential work that is done at The Nicky.”
