GET INVOLVED

I don’t know what I would do without The Nicky, it’s my second home

Manchester Jewish Community Care serves older, disabled and vulnerable members of the community by providing services which promote active, independent living.

The Nicky Alliance Centre is housed in a purpose built two storey building, adapted to the needs of disabled people. Over two hundred members, who live independently, attend the Centre several times a week.

Services we offer

MJCC has a track record in supporting vulnerable people. Since its inception in 1951 as the Jewish Blind Society, the charity developed services such as social activities at a club house, Meals on Wheels and holiday breaks for members.

With improvements in medical intervention for visual impairment, the charity addressed the needs of older and disabled people suffering from social isolation. In 1987 a state-of -the-art facility - The Nicky Alliance Day Centre was built, offering a full programme of activities.
